Lake Nakuru National Park

Destination Overview

Lake Nakuru National Park is a beautiful wildlife haven on the floor of the Great Rift Valley, surrounded by wooded and bushy grassland. Visitors can enjoy the diverse ecological diversity and habitats that range from Lake Nakuru to the surrounding escarpment and picturesque ridges. With the translocation of Rothschild giraffes and rhinos, it is beginning to gain a new reputation; however, while there are some lions, leopards, and buffalo, there are no elephants. Lesser game is present, as is a herd of hippo in the north-east corner.
